Lakelillies

While I was looking through photos for the Saatchi thing, I came across some Lake District photos that I had played with and decided that this one turned out really well. I used photoshop to enhance it and play with the colours. Those were the old days before Camera Raw. Now I can go through loads of photos and just play... I love it!

Today is Tuesday and I need to plan when and where things will happen before school is back in session. I need to do my lesson planning and Schemes of Work. We are being assessed next term so the paperwork needs to be together.

Unfortunately, the pig didn't sell so I will need to pick it up from the gallery on Thursday. This is not easy as it is so big that I need to have a people carrier to move it. I also need help moving it. It is going to hang in my hubby's offices until I can sell it or find another gallery. The difficult part is that it is all in central London so the logistics are a nightmare! Oh well, we transferred it from the Royal Academy to Llewelyn Alexander so it can go to Victoria the same way. I am lucky to have had it in a gallery at all. This was my first "hanging" and I was really excited. I don't market myself very well, if at all, so it is a miracle that it was hanging anywhere other than the studio. I hate all of the background that you have to have in order be taken seriously as an artist. Why can't the work speak for itself? I love sharing my work with people though, and now I can post it on my blog!

Todays art focus will be going to the studio to work on the Grace painting. I will post work in progress tomorrow...

About Me

My photo
I am an American married to a Brit and living in London. I have a 28 year old son who is living in Southern California and trying to decide what to do with his life. He's lovely! I have a 13 1/2 year old poodle with a degenerative muscle thing and I am constantly worried about when and how it will all end for her... I also have 2 mini daschunds (mum and daughter) and thats nice! Oh, and then there's the cat...I teach at a local art college and I have a studio where I paint. I also do sculpture and various other art things. I love to try new things and lately, I am into felting. I love living in South London (Wandsworth) and I have never been happier. There are so many green spaces and I love to go walking with dogs and friends. I am lucky because I can do exactly what I want in my art without having to worry about being commercial, however, it's nice to be recognized for what you are trying to do. Well, that's enough about me for now...
